Q: Can I make a reservation here on the web site? 

A: Unfortunately, no. Our reservation software is not web compatible. Also, some property owners also do their own reservations and require that we verify each reservation with them to insure there are no double bookings.

Q: What must I do to reserve a cabin?

A: Call us.  We will need to know what cabin, what dates, how many people are staying, and your contact information.

Q: How much do I have to pay to hold a reservation?

A: We require a minimum of 50% down to hold the reservation. The balance is due 30 days prior to the "check in" date.. If the reservation is made in 30 days or less of the "check in" date, the full amount is required.

Q: Can I pay with a credit card?

A: Not with first time renters.  Since the cards are not "swiped" with a phone reservation, the credit card companies will not stand behind the transaction.    For second time renters, we will take VISA and MasterCard.   We still  prefer payment by check to save the cost of the card processing and we have to have you sign a rental ageement and return it anyway.

Q: Can't you "swipe" the card when we get there?

A: No. These properties are scattered across the Northwoods and the majority of "check ins" are usually Saturday afternoon. There is no way to be at all locations at one time.  There are arrangements for you get into your cabin, but normally, there won't be anyone to meet you.

Q: Will you send me a receipt?

A: Yes. We will send you a Rental Agreement which has two parts to it. The top is confirmation of the rental information: name of the property, the dates of the reservation, your information, and the total cost. The bottom is a contract showing "check in"/"check out" times, cancellation information, etc. We require that you sign and return it with your deposit payment. When we receive the Rental Agreement and your check, we will send you confirmation of payment. When you make your final payment and pay the property security deposit, we will send you another confirmation of payment along with complete directions to the property and property specific rental information that covers how to get in the cabin, phone calls, what to bring, etc.

Q: What's the security deposit?

A: To protect each property, we require a check to cover accidental damage. The amount varies with the properties and their owners. We do not bank that check unless there is damage. We normally attach the check to the Rental Agreement and return it, voided, once the property is checked by the owner, cleaner, or property manager.

Q: What is your cancellation policy.

A: We will give you a full refund, minus $15 to cover the reservation expenses, up to your final payment.  Once the final payment is made, there are no refunds. In the case of an emergency, some owners will allow an alternate date within one year, if available.  The alternate date's reservation must be for the same amount.

Q: But what if I want to snowmobile and there's no snow?

A: That varies owner to owner. Some say it's no different than a time share vacation; you just make plans to do other things. Others will give you the choice of an alternate date within one year. Still others will give a refund. Be sure to ask.

Q: Do I have to rent a full week? I just want to snowmobile for a weekend.

A: Almost all owners want weekly rentals in the summer. A weekend rental would knock out two weekly rentals so it's rarely allowed. Spring, fall, and winter has three night reservations, a couple will do two nights. See the "Amenities, Rates and Availability page for each property to see if there are shorter length rentals and when.

Q: If we like where we stayed, can I reserve the same cabin for next year?

A: Yes, you have priority for that week. If you want another week at the same cabin, we'd have to make sure that renter doesn't want it first.  We recommend you make your reservation as soon as you can to make sure you don't lose your vacation time.
